Full Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi – Nghia Lo (L, D) 200km – 5 driving hours
Pick up at hotel at around 8 AM, we will depart for Nghia Lo – the second great valley of rice fields of North Vietnam. Along the way, we stop at Son Tay to visit the ancient village of Duong Lam, renowned for its ancient houses built with laterite blocks. Visit old houses and the town hall.
After lunch in a local restaurant, we continue to Nghia Lo with one stop to visit the village Van Chan, take a walk in the village’s road, stop to talk with the locals and photo shot with the children.
Arrive at Nghia Lo in the afternoon, walking around the surrounding villages; discover the daily life of ethnic Thai white. Check in hotel and have dinner. We spend one night at hotel in Nghia Lo.

Day 2: Nghia Lo - Tu Le - Mu Cang Chai (B, L, D) 100km ~ 5 driving hours
After breakfast, we drive to Mu Cang Chai passing through one of the most beautiful roads of Vietnam. Along the way, we reach Tu Le village of Hmong people, short walking tour in the rice fields. The car takes us to the beautiful follows Khau Pha Pass surrounded by peaks over 2000 m and overlooking a large rice field terraces and then switch the H'mong village of Nga Ba Khin. We continue the 7km road through beautiful landscapes to reach the Black H'mong village of La Pan Tan and driving more 20km before arriving Mu Cang Chai. Have a short walk 500m to the village, the beautiful upland rice covered terrace. Continue to drive Mu Cang Chai the valley. On arrival, check into a Thai family. Lunch with the family and a little rest at home – stay.
In the afternoon, a small hike to Kim Noi village. Back to the family late in the afternoon for enjoy a cooking class with the host. Have dinner and overnight at homestay.

Day 3: Mu Cang Chai - Than Uyen - Sapa (B, L) 140km ~ 5 driving hours
After breakfast, drive to Sapa through beautiful tea fields in Than Uyen. Before arriving in Than Uyen, we can stop and visit a village Thai (hiking about 2-3kms), discover the daily life and meet with local people. Have lunch at a local restaurant in Than Uyen.
Continue to Sapa road, we can reach to the highest pass in Vietnam (2047m). Stop at the pass to see Fanxipan Peak (3143m), the roof of Indochina. Arrive in Sapa, stroll in the village of Cat Cat (01 hour walk) which homes to Black H'mong ethnic minority. We will discover their original customs, traditional houses surrounded by rice terraces in which we will discover the manufacture of traditional indigo outfits. Visit a hydroelectric center built by the French in the early 20th century, and a waterfall. Overnight in a hotel in Sapa.

Day 4: Sapa – Sapa – Tram Ton – 2800m (B, L, D)
After breakfast at hotel, we are having a couple of interesting days waiting ahead. We travel by car toward the Silver Waterfall where we will be able to take a short walk to the waterfall. We will then drive further to Heaven Gate, the highest peak of roads in Vietnam. From there we can see Fansipan, the highest peak of Indochina mountains as well as enjoy stunning views. The trek will be relatively soft until lunchtime. After a couple of hours of hiking, we will have a break at a nice spot in the forest and enjoy a good lunch.
After lunch, we continue trekking to the campsite. With good weather, we will see the scenery and magnificent views of Sapa area and beautiful landscape of Lai Chau province. We will arrive to the campsite at 2800m ASL in the late afternoon. Now it is time to relax and enjoy a well prepared dinner.

Day 5: 2800m – the top of Fansipan – 2200m (B, L, D)
After breakfast, we climb to the top, where we can celebrate our victory. From there, we can enjoy the best view to beautiful sceneries. We will then start descending. We stop on the way at a nice spot for lunch.
After lunch, we start the tough trek, which is all the way downhill through rainforest. This part requires a great concentration to step on steep trail until we meet the campsite at 2200m ASL. Here we spend another night in tent.
Approx: 8 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch.
Day 6: 2200m – Sin Chai – Sapa (B, L)
You wake up in the fresh and pure morning in wild nature, before heading back to civilization. You trek downhill through well-protected forest and after two hours of hiking, you stop for lunch.
You will then continue descending toward Sin Chai village of Back Hmong minority. On the way you will be able to enjoy valley views and beautiful surrounding. You stop at the village for a while before you go by car back to Sapa, where you can celebrate your achievement and relax. Overnight at hotel.
Approx: 0,5 hour driving/ 4 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch.
Day 7: Sapa – Transfer to Bac Ha – visit Can Cau Saturday market or Bac Ha Sunday market (B, L, D) 80km – 03 driving hours
It depends on the schedule; we will merge to add one ethnic fabulous market. Can Cau market is available on Saturday morning only and Bac Ha is available on Sunday morning.
After breakfast, our local guide & driver will pick up us and then start our drive to Bac Ha town. The road is relatively flat from Lao Cai to Bao Nhai Bridge. After crossing the bridge, we begin our journey uphill offering beautiful views over the valleys. Visit Bac Ha or Can Cau market on the morning and in the afternoon, we will take a walk to Ban Pho, a small village of Nung and Flower Hmong. The villagers grow vegetables and fruit trees. One of the most famous fruit of the area is plum. Visit a local house and taste a cup of corn wine, another famous product of the village. Then go back to hotel late in the afternoon.

Day 8: Bac Ha – transfer to Lang Son (B, L) 400km – 07 driving hours
After breakfast, we drive to Lang Son where we stay as transit place and then proceed to Halong tour.
On the way, we will take a short walk to visit the old castle of the former Hmong King. Arrive in Lang Son, check in hotel for overnight and free dinner.

Day 9: Lang Son – Halong (B, L, D) overnight on cruise 218km – 04 driving hours
After breakfast, we travel to Halong. It takes 4 driving hours to get there. We will arrive in Halong at noon, On arrival at Hon Gai International Harbour, we will check in the cruise, enjoy welcome drink, and cruise briefing. Lunch onboard while cruising to magnificent Bai Tu Long Bay; admire the fascinating formations on the way. In the mid-afternoon, we will explore the well- hidden Thien Canh Son Cave and then relax on a white sandy beach at Hon Co Island, swimming or kayaking.
In the late afternoon, we will be back to the junk for refreshing before having dinner on board. The rest of the evening will be free to relax in our comfortable cabin. Overnight on board.

Day 10: Halong – Hanoi (B, L)
Wake up early in the morning and enjoy the fresh air of the Bay with cup of tea or coffee. We will have breakfast in the open-door restaurant (weather permits). After that, we will visit Vung Vieng fishing village by a rustic rowboat, meet the local people and pass through the floating school and fish farms.
We will then be back to our junk to check out and start cruising towards the harbour while an A-la-carte lunch is served. Arrive back to the Harbor, we will find our car and guide waiting and take us back to Hanoi.
