Vietnam Itinerary 13 Days
Day 1: Hanoi Arrival (D)
After the flight arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, you will be transferred to the hotel. Tonight we will have a meal in one of the fine restaurants in Hanoi. Overnight in Hanoi
Day 2: Hanoi City Tour (B, L)
In the morning, we will visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his house on stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, the outside of the Presidential Palace and the Temple of Literature which was Vietnam's first University.
In the afternoon we will go to the intriguing Ethnology Museum followed by an hour on a cyclo (a pedal rickshaw) being taken around the old quarter of Hanoi. Then we can enjoy the unique water puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi.
Notes: Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum opening time: Open from Tuesday to Thursday and weekends from 8 am to 11 pm. Closed on Mondays and Fridays. The mausoleum is closed for two months of the year, usually October and November, when Ho Chi Minh’s body is maintenance by Russian expert.
Day 3: Hanoi - Halong Bay (B, L, D)
Wake up early this morning to see a different Hanoi of peace and refreshment. Walk around the West Lake to fill up your lung with the fresh air as well as the aroma of lotuses (seasonal). Stop at Tran Quoc Pagoda and Quan Thanh Temple for a rest along with relaxing sightseeing. Then satisfy your empty stomach a hot bowl of Pho in a local restaurant together with friendly local people.
Return to the hotel and prepare for the Halong Bay trip. After arrival, enjoy lunch with seafood with the fantastic views of the World Natural Heritage Site, marveling at 3000 limestone peaks that emerge from the emerald water. Take a short rest then begin Halong Bay adventure tour by exploring its spectacular limestone caves and kayaking to discover every hidden charming part of this pearl. Get back to the boat at sunset and behold this gorgeous moment. Overnight on boat.
Day 4: Halong Bay - Hanoi (B, L)
In the morning, join in the Taichi lesson at dawn for balancing your body before doing some more kayaking and swimming to explore Luon cave, Turtle islet, Human Head islet, and the Saddle islet. Enjoy the second lunch at Halong Bay and move back to Hanoi in the afternoon. Take a rest for the tomorrow flight or spend last minutes at Hanoi drinking some beer at vibrant Ta Hien Street of the Old Quarter. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 5: Hanoi - Fly to Danang - Transfer to Hue via Hai Van Tunnel (B)
After breakfast, transfer to Noi Bai airport to catch a one-hour flight to Danang airport, upon arrival we will be welcome and move to Hue via Hai Van tunnel. Along the way, stop at Lang Co beach for short beach break. Arrive in Hue, have lunch and explore the Citadel, the Imperial City and the Forbidden Purple City in the afternoon. Overnight in Hue.
Day 6: Hue City Tour (B, L)
This morning, we make our way down to the Perfume River to embark on a riverboat journey. Visit the Thien Mu pagoda (the Pagoda of the Heavenly Lady) lying on the bank of the river and the nearby Tu Duc tomb of the Nguyen Emperors. Leave the boat behind and cycle to Thuy Bieu village of immense fruit garden and ancient houses. Get back to Hue before dark and pay a visit to the biggest traditional market in town, Dong Ba market. Overnight in Hue.
Day 7: Hue - Hoi An (B)
Travel through the high pass of Hai Van Pass with its spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean en route to Hoi An. On the way, visit Cham museum, China Beach and the Marble Mountain.
In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour of the Old Town with its narrow, winding streets, visiting the Fukien Assembly Hall, the 200-year-old Tan Ky house, the Japanese covered bridge, the Hoi An Museum and the handicraft workshops. After that, we are free to go shopping, go to the nearby beach, or even have some clothes made which can be picked up the very next day.
Day 8: Hoi An - Free day & Food Tour (B)
Morning and afternoon of this day is your leisure to explore Hoi An ancient town. In the evening, join in the food tour to taste all of the specialties of the town such as banh mi Hoi An, Quang noodle, and Mot drink. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 9: Hoi An - My Son Holy Land (B)
Today we visit My Son Sanctuary, a relic of the Cham civilization which dates back from the 4th to the 12th century. We will return at noon giving us more time to explore quaint Hoi An. We also can take part in a cooking class showing us how to prepare the best Vietnamese and Hoi An specialties.
Day 10: Hoi An - Da Nang - Fly to Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels (B)
Take a short flight to Ho Chi Minh City early this morning from Danang. Upon arrival, move to hotel for relaxing and lunch. In the afternoon, travel to Cu Chi Tunnels, the great underground system as well as the answer to the question of why the little Vietnamese could defeat the powerful American army in the Vietnam War.
Return to Ho Chi Minh City at sunset and participate in the Vespa tour to explore the rich mix of vibrant but peaceful Saigon. Use some minutes stand on the bank of Saigon river to see the colorful nightlife of the city. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 11: Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta (B, L, D)
After breakfast, leave Saigon for the mighty Mekong Delta today. At Vinh Long town, we will board a local boat so we can zigzag through the intricate waterways of the Mekong. We will lunch at a local house, stop to visit cottage industries and spend the night at the simple lodging of a local family in the Mekong Delta.
Day 12: Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City (B, L)
Our day will begin with a boat trip along the endless waterway of the mighty Mekong River to Cai Be floating market. One of the most beautiful floating markets in the region. After that, we have a chance to see how the local people making: pop corn, and rice paper. In the afternoon we go back to Ho Chi Minh, and the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 13: Ho Chi Minh City Tour (B, L)
Today, we tour around the city to visit the highlights of Saigon including Notre Dame Cathedral, General Post Office, Formal Presidential Palace, Museum of War Remnants, and Ben Thanh market. Overnight in Saigon.
Cambodia Itinerary 6 Days
Day 14: Ho Chi Minh City - Siem Reap (B, L, D)
Today we bid farewell to Vietnam and after a short flight to Siem Riep. In the afternoon, we begin to explore Angkor with the Rolous group of temples before climbing to the hilltop temple of Phnom Bakheng for a spectacular sunset.
Day 15: Angkor Temple Complex (B)
After breakfast, we drive out to the Pre Rup and East Mebon visit Banteay Srey (the Woman temple). In the afternoon we explore the majestic Angkor Wat - The Wonder of the World - a truly memorable experience.
Day 16: Siem Reap - Angkor Thom - Night Market (B, L)
This morning we visit the ruins of Ta Prohm (the Jungle Temple) before heading to Banteay Kdei and the nearby lake of Sra Srang and Angkor Thom to unlock its mysteries hidden inside historical relics.
In the afternoon, reach Tonle Sap Lake, one of the biggest lakes in Asia to get closer to the life of local people on floating villages. In the evening, stroll around Siem Reap night market to buy some souvenirs and gifts as the memorabilia of this wonderful trip.
Day 17: Siem Reap - Phnom Penh (B)
In the morning, we travel by hydrofoil to Phnom Penh. The rest of the day is free to discover the capital of Cambodia. Overnight in Phnom Penh
Day 18: Phnom Penh City Tour (B, L, D)
Today there is a full-day sightseeing in the national capital including the National Museum, the Royal Palace, the Silver pagoda, Wat Phnom, the Tuol Sleng, the horrific killing field, and the Russian market. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Day 19: Phnom Penh Departure (B)
You will be transferred to the airport for the flight out of Cambodia. The Vietnam Cambodia itinerary 19 days ends.
