Day 1: Basic Vietnamese Language class (L, D)
We are picked up at hotel at 8:00am and transfer to the class for our Hanoi Accelerated class. We have our discussion of course objectives and requirement. Then tour guide teacher will introduce to basic salutations and etiquette. After that, we start spelling and pronunciation basics, learning to buy a ticket, practice the dialogue of buying a meal at a restaurant or stall, practice a simple conversation with local people such as hello (chao ong, chao ba…). We have a short break in the middle of the class. At noon time, we stop for our lunch together at a Vietnamese restaurant or at a street food shop…The first chance to practice with tour guide teacher’s help.
In the afternoon, we travel to the outskirt of Hanoi. The first destination is Thay Pagoda (Master pagoda) which is located in the complex of limes-tone mountain, lake and village around. Continue our journey to Hoang Long Eco resort nearby Tay Phuong pagoda, we check in and relax a short time before our soft biking tour around. We visit Tay Phuong pagoda, go up more than 200 steps to the top of the hill and see the wooden architecture of old Viet people, especially the famous Buddha statues in this place. Tay Phuong pagoda is located on the top of a mountain and we will walk up and down more than 200 steps. Dinner today at a local family where you can chat with the friendly host with the help of tour guide teacher. Try a bit of haggling if you dare. Overnight at Eco resort in the village.
Day 2: Hanoi Old Handicraft Villages (B, L)
After breakfast, we start exploring the villages by bike. Softly biking around from this village to another, we can see the Vietnamese farmer daily life such as: farming on the rice fields, doing the handicrafts (wooden furniture, bamboo fans, paper fans…). We can stop everywhere we wish, chatting to local people and buying something with the help of the tour guide….We will visit local market, schools (not working during weekends), kindergartens…
After lunch we travel back to Hanoi. Trip ends.
