In the meeting of the Tourism Business Management Committee of Sekong held on 3 November, Mr Souban Detsomphong - the Deputy Director of the Kekong Information, Culture and Tourism Department claimed that over 30,000 tourists visited Kekong Province in the 2014-2015 period. This number has been rising gradually year on year.
Currently, the province has become one of tourist attractions in Laos as it draws a huge number of both domestic and foreign visitors. The province has 34 tourist sites including 19 natural sites, 6 cultural sites and 9 historical sites, 9 hotels, 30 guesthouses, and several restaurants and resorts that can accommodate about 1,000 tourists.
Next year, the province will focus on developing all potential tourism sites, and improve infrastructure and public facilities by attracting investment from entrepreneurs.
