Breathtaking scenery, a number of ancient stones scattered around the valley as well as the largest farmland for rice growing in SaPa set Muong Hoa Valley apart from other destinations. Muong Hoa valley is located in Hau Thao commune, 8 km away from Sa Pa town. This tilt pan-shaped valley with vast streams of flowers inside, stretches about 15 kilometers and passes through the villages of Lao Chai, Ta Van, Hau Thao and ends at Ban Ho. This stream is formed by 22 other small streams. More specifically, the Muong Hoa is made up of rain water which follows dozens of streams downhill to the floor. The stream then passes through the small town and rice fields of the ethnic minority people of H’Mong, Dao and many others who have been cultivating on the slopping land and living their own ways for hundreds of years.

In order to facilitate the communication between the two sides, the nearby ethnic minority has created bridges crossing the stream. Owning to these suspension bridges, many visitors have come here to visit the valley. If you come here in the fall of grain, you could be able to contemplate the panoramic view of rice fields. The combination of golden rice fields and blue water makes miraculous beauty for the valley.
Muong Hoa Valley is conveniently reached through a main road, on which visitors could fully enjoy opportunities to take photos and soak up the authentic beauty of Sapa. Besides, this valley is endowed with landscaped beauty of terraced fields which is believed to be the most beautiful terraced fields of Sapa. The village of weaving and dyeing cloth of the Hmong is reached after you cross the suspension bridge. A colorful planet will authentically appear in front of your eyes and what you should probably do is just enjoy and discover it. Apart from being enchanted by the breathtaking landscapes of Muong Hoa valley, you will also visit small and isolated hamlets and villages in order to meet the Black H’mong, Zay and Red Zao at home.

According to the village elders, there were formerly a lot of trees on the both banks and under the water were a variety of fish swimming around. For every occasion of the lunar February and March, boys and girls gather here to catch fish and sing together. Also, this is also an ideal place for couples to date and show their love.

Apart from the scenic beauty, Muong Hoa Valley is home to the famous Sapa ancient stone. Between trees and terraced fields situate a lot of stones which were carved with strange shapes. Until now, no one could explain the origin and meaning of such unfamiliar shapes.
